He obtained undergraduate degrees in Biology/Physiology from the University of Western Ontario/McMaster University, and then completed his undergraduate medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) This was followed by an accredited residency in General Surgery Yale University in Connecticut, USA, which included a surgical research fellowship in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine.

After completing training in General Surgery, he went on to work as an acute care surgeon at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario. He received advanced training in minimally invasive hemorrhoid surgery in England and most recently in laser anorectal surgery in Portugal and obesity treatment adjuncts in Israel. Current clinical interests include gastrointestinal medicine/surgery as well as minimally invasive hemorrhoid surgery and obesity management in Toronto. He does extensive research and clinical experience in the gastrointestinal/anorectal disease and is a certified instructor in Laser Anorectal Surgery having mentored many Canadian Surgeons. He regularly teaches fellow surgeons, nurses and medical students, and pioneered Endoscopic Hemorrhoidectomy (EH) an OHIP covered procedure. He has extensive experience having performed over 800 such THD and Laser cases, with over 1500 EH cases. He is certified with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons.

Dr. Ahmed Almamar

Dr. Almamar completed his medical degree at the University of Baghdad and trained in General Surgery at the University of Alberta, and completed a Masters in Experimental Surgery at the University of Alberta as well as a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Western Ontario. He has research publications in many medical journals and is a member of the Ontario Association of General Surgeons, Canadian Association of General Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Almamar has completed advanced surgical training for managing different anorectal conditions hemorrhoids and other anal lesions He has been performing minimally invasive treatment for hemorrhoids for many years utilizing both Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization (THD), an innovative, no-cutting approach to treat hemorrhoids and also certified to perform laser hemorrhoidoplasty (ELITE) with excellent outcomes.

Dr. Bhargava has a primary focus of providing care for her patients in the form of minimally invasive procedures and cutting edge technology. She is the Medical Director of TCBH Surgical Centre (The Clinic at Beverly Hills Healthcare) and has been instrumental in bringing Laser Hemorrhoid Treatment to her Centre.

Achievements:

Dr. Bhargava completed both her medical school and surgical residency at the University of Western Ontario. In addition to her Bariatric fellowship, she has also completed Minimally Invasive fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
Dr. Bhargava has published multiple research papers and lead articles.
